East Midlands Trains criticised after 500 passengers stranded

Travellers stuck for hours after flooding and landslide in Northamptonshire Hundreds of rail passengers were stranded because of a landslide, and a military helicopter was deployed when a river burst its banks after heavy rainfall that has caused ongoing disruption to parts of the country. Fifteen flood warnings and 51 alerts were issued by the Environment Agency on Friday, with the majority in place across the Midlands and the north-west, while music festivals were hit by wet weather.
